About Saint Dymphna

Saint Dymphna is believed to have lived in the 7th century and is honored as a martyr. According to tradition, she was the daughter of a pagan king in Ireland and was known for her beauty and piety. Her father, after losing his wife, became mentally unstable and sought to marry Dymphna, mistaking her for her mother. To escape this fate, Dymphna fled, aided by her confessor, Saint Gerebernus.
